1,330 residents of the village El Carmen de Bolívar benefited from different social transformation works.
In 17 months of permanent intervention of the High Council for the Regions, the Government of Bolívar, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Municipal Mayor's Office, Invias, the Colombian Navy, the National Army, private and public companies met the objectives outlined in the framework of the Juntos por El Salado campaign.
Humanitarian demining work carried out by the Humanitarian Demining Group of the Colombian Navy led to the presentation of 12,733 square meters free of suspected anti-personnel mines in this village.
17 months of coordinated work conducted by the Military Forces, national, regional and local authorities, public and private institutions, made it possible to improve the quality of life of more than 1,330 inhabitants of the village of El Salado in the municipality of El Carmen de Bolívar.
The Juntos por El Salado Campaign led by the High Council for the Regions, which counted on the joint work of the Colombian Navy, the National Army, the Government of Bolívar, the Mayor's Office of El Carmen de Bolívar, the Ministry of Agriculture, INVIAS, and community leaders, was created in order to improve the quality of life in this village in the heart of the Montes de María region seeking new and better opportunities for comprehensive development for its inhabitants.
In this regard, the Military Forces together with the civil authorities and public and private institutions carried out activities that led to changing the history of this village. Tirelessly men and women of the Colombian Navy and the National Army worked in favor of the recovery of parks, education facilities, sports environments, adaptation of road infrastructure, humanitarian demining work, beautification of houses, recreational activities, environmental and health activities, as well as business meetings that led to benefit the Saladeros. It should be noted that in this campaign there was the participation of more than eight companies of the private sector that joined together to contribute with their operation to this Acceleration Plan for the Comprehensive Recovery of El Salado.
After these arduous work activity, in the main square of the village the President of the Republic Iván Duque Márquez, met the Governor of Bolivar, Vicente Antonio Blel, the Commander of the National Army, Major General Carlos Iván Moreno Ojeda, the Commander of the Naval Force of the Caribbean, vice Admiral Juan Ricardo Rozo Obregón, the Mayor of El Carmen de Bolívar, Carlos Torres Cohen, special guests, community leaders, and people of the region, to conduct the formal presentation of the works executed during the campaign. A tour by the streets and reconstructed works opened the event to later present to the people all the contributions made by the Military Forces and other institutions in this initiative.
The inhabitants expressed their gratitude to all the participating institutions and recognized their determined contribution that led to the transformation of the social fabric and the security conditions that boost to economic recovery and strengthened the productive sector in this Caribbean region.
These arduous work activities marked a milestone in the Montes de María area thanks to the unified operation of the State, strengthening the hope of the Saladeros and improving their quality of life.
