A new blow to drug trafficking was dealt, during an operation carried out by units of the Colombian Navy, attached to the Joint Stabilization and Consolidation Task Force Hercules with the Attorney General's Office, in which a cocaine hydrochloride production laboratory that housed 1,050 kilograms of drug was found and destroyed in controlled conditions.
During the searches carried out in the La Brava rural area of Tumaco – Nariño, 2,449 gallons of liquid supplies, 1,200 kilograms of solid supplies, 1,300 kilograms of food and equipment for the production of cocaine hydrochloride were in the same way found.
The laboratory, equipment and supplies were destroyed under controlled conditions at the scene, complying with established protocols and safety standards for the preservation of the environment.
With the destruction of this illegal infrastructure and the finding of the illicit substance that belonged to the FARC dissident group, Iván Ríos, the Military Forces prevented more than 35 million dollars from entering the finances of this residual organized armed group and the circulation of more than two and a half million doses of cocaine on the international illegal market.
In this result, in which no arrests occurred, it was possible to hit the criminal capacity of this residual group that with its criminal operations constrains the civilians of this region of the country, forcing them to become part of the criminal drug trafficking business, destroying the social fabric of their communities and violating their human and ancestral rights.
In the same way, the loss to the ecosystem of the Colombian Pacific coast caused by the indiscriminate use of toxic substances in the drug trafficking production chain was mitigated.
