In a joint and coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Navy, the National Army, the National Police Sijín and the Attorney General's Office, it was possible the arrest, by court order, an alleged member of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, for the crimes of aggravated homicide, manufacture, trafficking and carrying of firearms or ammunition and attempted homicide.
The individual who was arrested in the village Las Lomas del Muerto of the municipality of San Andrés de Sotavento – Córdoba, by troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Sucre of the Colombian Navy and the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Córdoba of the National Army, and later put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office 16 of Sahagún - Córdoba.
According to the investigations carried out by the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Córdoba of the National Army, the arrested, 24, would be linked to the homicide of the police officer of the National Police Edinson Manuel Borja Yáñez, on July 20, while patrol work was being carried out in the municipality of Tuchín, Córdoba.
With this result, the focused criminal component of the Javier Yepes Cantero substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo is directly hit, countering the materialization of crimes against good human physical condition.
