Troops of the Caribbean Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) in coordination with the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Police, carried out a search procedure and subsequent arrest, by court order, of 10 members of the Rastrojos - Costeños Organized Gang.
Those arrested were wanted for aggravated extortion, association to commit crimes, forced displacement and attempted murder. These individuals carried out criminal activities in the commercial sectors of the municipalities of Soledad, Malambo and the metropolitan area of Barranquilla.
Among them are alias La Patrona and Víctor Carlos Junior, wife and son of the ringleader of this criminal structure. This gang is accused of those attacks against to the productive groups and collective transport of passengers companies, through extortions.
On the other hand, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Cundinamarca in coordinated work with the Technical Investigation Corps of the Prosecutor's Office and after several months of investigation, obtained the arrest of alias El Flaco or Alex one of the ringleaders of the support network to the Residual Structure (RAER), of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r.
This 37-year-old individual is accused of participating in the kidnapping of a National Army officer in the municipality of Roberto Payán, as well as in the homicide of three soldiers and a collective homicide that occurred in the month of September 2021 on the road that leads from Tumaco to Pasto. They are in the same way charged with the crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes, aggravated homicide, trafficking, manufacture or carrying of firearms and ammunition of exclusive use of the Military Forces.
Alias El Flaco or Alex had been approximately 25 years in the guerrilla organization holding positions as explosives expert, RAER ringleader, squad ringleader, ringleader of GAO-r group Jaime Martínez, in charge of the Naya training school, head of mixed commissions Nariño, second GAO-r ringleader, Urías Rondón structure, second GAO-r ringleader, Alan Rodríguez structure and according to investigation, he was a liaison in Panama to control drug trafficking routes.
