In operations focused on attacking the criminal phenomenon of drug trafficking and the finances of structures outlaw, soldiers of the Vulcano Task Force carried out the search and destruction of a laboratory for the production of sulfuric acid, in rural Tibú, Norte de Santander.
The laboratory would cost in more than 200 million pesos and contained about 1,500 gallons of sulfuric acid, 25 gallons of ammonia, and more than 300 kilograms of sulfur, plastic containers and other elements used for the elaboration and production of drugs.
The finding of this clandestine construction was possible based on intelligence information. In the same way, it was possible to identify through investigations, that the chemicals would be distributed in different cocaine hydrochloride production laboratories, to be used by this illegal structure in the Catatumbo region.
