After two years of pandemic in which these types of visits had been suspended, the Chilean Air Force's Capitán Manuel Avalos Prado Aviation School arrived in the country's capital city aboard a Boeing 737-500, in order to know one of the most strategic units of the Colombian Air Force and the Resources it has.
The delegation, which landed on the military ramp of the Military Transport Air Command-CATAM, was made up of 8 officers and 52 senior cadets, headed by Brigadier General Juan Fernando Ilharreguy Niklitschek, Head of the Education Division of the Chilean Air Force; this visit aims to learn about aspects related to our Air Institution.
They were received by Mr. Brigadier General Juan Francisco Mosquera, who explained the strategic mission carried out by CATAM in the country. Later they visit and learn about the Aeronautical Education Group (GRUEA) and the flight simulators it has; the National Center for Personnel Recovery (CNRP) and its Resources for disaster and emergency care.
The tour ended at the Aerospace Medicine Directorate (DIMAE) where they learned about the Resources and developments in Aerospace Medicine, the height chamber and the spatial disorientation machine, which strengthen the skills and abilities of pilots and crews.
This visit aims to strengthen relations and bilateral cooperation conducted by these two sister nations.
