In the operation, it was possible the arrest of a ringleader and three alleged members of the Jorge Iván Arboleda Garcés substructure, of the Clan del Golfo.
Through intelligence work, soldiers of the National Army, in a coordinated and inter-institutional work with the Police and the Attorney General's Office, managed to arrest three men and a woman, among them alias Jaime, alleged ringleader of the Jorge Iván Arboleda Garcés substructure, of the organized armed group GAO Clan del Golfo.
These individuals would have kidnaped, for approximately eight months, a demobilized of the ELN, in the village of Martaná, in the municipality of Remedios, in the department of Antioquia.
In the same way, it was possible to find two firearms, explosives, ammunition of different calibers, two magazines, two communications radios and five cell phones.
Alias Jaime, had allegedly been involved in this illegal organization for five years and committed crimes in the villages of Martaná, Juanbra, Salado, Santa Sucia, Otú, in the municipality of Remedios, and in the villages of Quebradona, Rio Bagre, El Aporreado and Campo Alegre, in the municipality of Segovia, Antioquia. In addition, he is accused of having participated in the murder of social leaders, collection of extorted money, armed proselytism, kidnappings and drug trafficking.
The arrested were put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution.
The National Army will continue its operation in the Northeast of Antioquia, to neutralize any criminal activity that disturbs the security and tranquility of the inhabitants.
