This result is a response to the early warning number 054 of 2019, issued by the Ombudsman's Office for the South of Córdoba.
In military operations, soldiers of the National Army in recent hours made the arrest of alias El Viejo or Brayan and alias Pecas, who would belong to the Rubén Darío Ávila substructure of the GAO Clan del Golfo, in the village Mina Alacrán, of the municipality of Puerto Libertador, Córdoba.
Alias El Viejo would be the head of the area of the municipalities of Montelíbano and Puerto Libertador, Córdoba and would be in charge of collecting money from extortion made against companies and different productive groups in the region.
In the same way, he is accused of the terrorist operation of September 21, 2021, which left five soldiers killed and seven more injured, who were traveling in a truck-type vehicle, when an explosive charge was activated in the village of La Liboria, in the municipality of Puerto Libertador, Córdoba.
On the other hand, Alias Pecas would be part of the security of alias El Viejo and in the same way collected money from extortion and proselytizing in favor of the GAO Clan del Golfo.
These individuals had in their possession a revolver, 18 .38 caliber cartridges and two motorcycles, which were used to intimidate and commit crimes in this area of the country. The arrested, as well as the material, were put into custody of the judicial authorities, for the relevant urgent acts.
With this result, it was possible to deal a decisive blow to the control of the movements of military accessories, weapons, communications, explosives, food, hallucinogens of the Rubén Darío Ávila substructure.
