The arrested would allegedly be members of the organized armed group GAO Clan del Golfo Substructura Gonzalo Oquendo.
Troops of the National Army, in coordination with the DIJIN Police, an arrests in flagrante delicto three individuals for the crime of trafficking, manufacture and carrying of firearms or ammunition.
In a public establishment in the village of La Cristalina, in the municipality of Puerto Gaitán, Meta, these individuals were arrested, who had in their possession two revolver-type firearms and 12 cartridges.
At the time of the arrest, three motorcycle-type vehicles and two cell phones were in the same way found; later, they were put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office of Puerto Gaitán, Meta.
Apparently these individuals would be conducting collection of money from extortion against merchants and ranchers of the rural area of Puerto Gaitán, Meta, to whom by means of threats and intimidation they would be making demands for money in exchange for not being displaced of their lands.
According to a records check by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Interpol (DIJIN), two of these individuals had in their criminal history records for prison break, manufacturing crime, trafficking carrying weapons or ammunition, homicide and extortion, in the departments of Antioquia, Nariño and Meta.
