The arrested women had about 700 million pesos in their possession as a result of loans apparently acquired irregularly.
In the course of military stabilization operations, troops of the Second Brigade of the National Army carried out search operations in Barranquilla, Atlántico, where they made the arrest of four women wanted by the authorities for the crimes of money laundering, association to commit crimes, illicit enrichment and illegal collection of money.
The operation carried out by the Military Police Battalion No.2 was carried out in an interinstitutional manner with the Attorney General's Office, in order to materialize the apprehensions of these women who, according to initial information, would be linked to the diversion of money acquired through loans, irregularly managed for the purchase of goods (figureheads).
In the same way, about 700 million pesos in cash were found by troops in the operation, money that was in the possession of these women at the time of the arrest.
After the arrests, the detainees were put into custody of the competent authorities to conduct the judicial process.
The National Army will continue working to mitigate the factors of instability that alter law and order in the Colombian Caribbean region, working for constitutional order throughout the national territory.
