Eighty kilograms of ANFO-type explosives were found by troops and destroyed in Buenaventura - Valle del Cauca.
In a rural area of Buenaventura – Valle del Cauca, units of the Colombian Navy, the National Army and the National Police found and destroyed in a controlled way 80 kilograms of ANFO, a high-power explosive.
The operation took place in the Potedó sector, on the Via del Aldea Ocho, in the rural area of Buenaventura, where the troops arrived guided by military intelligence information and after arduous search work, they found the explosive material that was hidden in an illegal hideout.
As it could be established, this material would belong to the residual Organized Armed Group, structure 6 mobile column Jaime Martínez and would be used against the Military Forces as retaliation for the decisive blows against this criminal organization in recent months.
After complying with the established protocols and procedures, the material was destroyed in the area in controlled conditions by a group of experts. No arrests were made during the operation.
With these results, the criminal interference of this residual GAO in the rural area of the District of Buenaventura, as well as its ability to coerce the civilians and the ethnic communities that inhabit the region, is decisively hit.
