With this result, the distribution of 7.5 million doses of cocaine on the streets of the world was prevented.
The sale of this illegal product represents financial losses in excess of 180 million dollars for organizations at the service of drug trafficking.
In development of an operation of the Military Forces in coordination with the Police, more than three thousand packages of cocaine hydrochloride that were hidden in a container in a port facility of Cartagena – Bolívar, were found by troops.
The result was possible after a rigorous inspection carried out by the Colombian Navy, together with units of the Anti-Narcotics Police, who found the rectangular packages apparently with illicit substances, inside some boxes with export products that the container was transporting.
The material found in the packages was taken for the Approved Preliminary Identification Test - PIPH, where it was possible to establish that it was three tons of cocaine hydrochloride.
This illegal merchandise, which would have as its final destination a port in Spain, would belong to a criminal structure associated with the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, which has criminal alliances in different ports and maritime terminals in Europe.
With this finding, the drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in this region of the country will stop receiving approximately 180 million dollars and marketing 7.5 million doses of cocaine on the international illegal market, thus troops deal a heavy blow to the finances of the multicrime organization.
The material was put into custody of the authorities, no arrests were made during the procedure.
This result is part of the decisive operation carried out by the Caribbean Naval Force against organizations at the service of drug trafficking and complements the 147 tons of cocaine hydrochloride that have been found in 2022 in this region of the country, dealing a blow of approximately 4,900 million dollars to these criminal structures that commit crimes in the Colombian Caribbean.
