Thanks to the management of a humanitarian mission formed by the Ombudsman's Office and the Diocese of Arauca of the Catholic Church, and with the accompaniment of the Colombian Navy, it was possible the return to freedom of the non-commissioned officer Camilo Andrés Córdoba Arenas, of the Joint Task Force Titan, who had been kidnapped since last December 13 by the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN.
Once the release was known, the Colombian Navy activated the institutional protocols in order to ensure the safe return of our crew member to his home.
The Colombian Navy appreciates the collaboration of the institutions that mediated the release of the Non-commissioned Officer Córdoba Arenas, however, categorically rejects any operation that violates the human rights and personal freedom of Colombians.
