These illegal means of war would have been installed apparently by members of the GAO ELN and GAO-r Farc dissidents.
In operations of stabilization and territorial control, troops of the National Army, in an arduous and continuous work to protect the Araucan territory, carried out the finding and destruction of a large minefield and an illegal hiding place with abundant war material and military accessories, in the municipalities of Puerto Rondón and Arauquita, in the department of Arauca.
These mine areas that were found by troops in the El Paisaje and San Rafael villages of the municipality of Puerto Rondón, Arauca, were composed of three Cleymore-type mines, two anti-personnel mines, 17 metal ramp-type launch vehicles, 34 improvised explosive devices and four cylinders each of 40 kilos, which contained different explosive material.
This is how it was in the same way possible the finding in the Caño Salas village in the municipality of Arauquita, Arauca, an illegal hideout, in which 127 1.72-millimeter caliber cartridges, four 40-millimeter caliber grenades and five different caliber magazines were found. In addition, it was possible to find abundant material of military accessories.
The finding of these areas, which are protected daily by men of the National Army, has led to the peasant inhabitants and minors being able to regain their tranquility again and move freely to carry out their daily activities.
The destruction of the mines was carried out by soldiers of the EXDE group of the Quiron Task Force, highly qualified specialists for this type of risky missions. The war material and military accessories were given to the authority.
Within the framework of the Perseo plan, the National Army will continue to fulfill the constitutional mission, and especially the fight against the indiscriminate use of improvised explosive devices that are used by illegal armed groups, which clearly is an attack against Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.
