Within the framework of the Ayacucho campaign plan, we continue to counter the crime of drug trafficking and prevent these narcotics from reaching young people and minors in the national territory.
In the course of search and control operations on the Pan-American highway, in the sector between La Linea and Cajamarca, soldiers of Infantry Battalion No.18 Colonel Jaime Rooke of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army, in conjunction with the Air Combat Command No.4 of the Colombian Air Force and the National Police, an inter-municipal bus that was covering the Cali - Bogotá route was intercepted, in which 20 kilos of marijuana belonging to an individual who was traveling in the vehicle were found by troops.
At the time of the check-up of the elements, 20 packages wrapped in black plastic were found by troops in one of the suitcases, which contained marijuana inside, which is enough for 20 thousand doses with an approximate cost of $30 million pesos.
The hallucinogenic substance and the owner of the luggage were put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office 19 of Cajamarca, for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing and carrying narcotics.
In this way, we continue to counteract this crime and so far in 2023, soldiers of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army have found 64 kilos of marijuana at this strategic point of the department.
