During two institutional check posts, an alleged member of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Adan Izquierdo, was arrested in flagrante delicto, in the same way, a minor was recovered and another alleged member of this structure voluntarily surrendered.
In the first military operation carried out in the municipality of Yotoco, Army soldiers arrested alias Cristian, alleged member of the residual GAO Adán Izquierdo, a structure that commits crimes in the center of the department. The individual, who was given to the authorities, had a valid arrest warrant for the crimes of prison escape and extortion kidnapping.
In another operation, this time in the municipality of Sevilla, during a checkpoint, an individual identified by the alias of Alan made a voluntary surrender to the troops, along with a minor, who claimed to be members of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Adán Izquierdo, a criminal structure responsible for multiple crimes in the north of Cauca and municipalities such as Jamundí and Palmira, in the department of Valle.
The soldiers protected the lives of these young people, complying with the institutional policies of respect for human rights and the norms of international humanitarian law. As for the recovered minor, he was put into custody of the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute and the Children and Adolescents Police, so that his rights can be restored.
The National Army invites members of organized armed groups to present themselves to the authorities and receive the benefits that the National Government provides to start a new life project.
