In joint and coordinated military operations with the Colombian Navy and the National Police, soldiers of the Joint Task Force Titan obtained the finding of a laboratory used for the production of coca base paste, in the Urada and Jiguamiandó Community Council, of the municipality of Carmen del Darién, in the department of Chocó.
Through intelligence work, it was possible to find this rudimentary construction, where the troops found about 1,165 gallons of liquid supplies and more than 474 kilograms of solid supplies, as well as machinery and equipment used to make the substance, which would belong to the Carlos Vásquez substructure, of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
With this result, it was possible to obtain a decisive loss to the main source of financing for the purchase of weapons and the terrorist operations of this armed structure by more than 600 million pesos and; in turn, the production of approximately 500 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride per month is prevented.
The material was put into custody of the authorities to continue the corresponding judicial procedures and subsequent destruction.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, the National Army continues to conduct military operations against drug trafficking and against this terrorist organization, responsible for the attacks against civilians and Military Forces in this region of the country, with flagrant violations of human rights and violations of international humanitarian law.
