In aircraft, as well as in vehicles and boats, the Military Forces deployed since yesterday, March 31, a complete security operation to support the Police, as well as the regional and local authorities, during this Holy Week.
More than 15 thousand men and women will be at strategic points of the national geography so that travelers, transporters, tourists, merchants, among others can massively enjoy a few quiet days, which will contribute to the economic and social development of the different regions of the country.
The National Army will have an operation of more than 11 thousand men and women who, on roads, urban areas and villages, will support security tasks. For its part, the Colombian Navy sent more than 3,000 sailors who will be in charge of the custody of rivers and seas in order to work to raise security in the movements made by boats of both travelers and tourists.
Finally, the Air Force sent its helicopters and airplanes, as well as unmanned aircraft, for real-time surveillance of the main roads, and thus report in real time any situation that may hit the tranquility and free mobility of the civilians.
Within the Resources that the Military Forces have, the trained dogs will be prepared to provide support for security and emergency tasks. That is why about 500 explosives detection dogs, narcotics detection dogs, as well as search and rescue dogs, were located in strategic areas to support these efforts in favor of the defense of life.
The Military Forces will have the National Toll-free Line 147 so that from anywhere in the country, locals and visitors can report any criminal, suspicious or emergency operation, and thus the authorities can react in a prompt and timely manner.
