As part of the process that seeks to continue gestating peace and sustainable development, Avanza was created, a concept of the COOPTEJPAZ cooperative, which through the clothing workshop where 22 employees work, in the municipality of Icononzo, department of Tolima is opening a way of opportunities, in a territory where long ago, the armed conflict predominated. The Air Combat Command No.4, of the Colombian Air Force joins this important initiative.
With the aim of supporting the economy relaunching process for the transformation of textiles, into garments, bags, among other items, which are subsequently distributed and marketed. The Comprehensive Action Section of CACOM 4, gathered and provided a ton of used garments in this workshop, benefiting in this way, the economy and the work that these people carried out, who found economic sustenance for their family there.
It is important to mention that they not only create accessories for commercial purposes, but in the same way for non-profit purposes, which is why they are currently making 1,700 bags, which will be donated to low-income Icononzunos students, weaving peace, bringing hope and strengthening, in addition, the bonds of solidarity and mutual aid in this sector of the country.
To the Colombian Air Force is important to contribute to social and economic development based on solidarity, unity and integration, therefore, it will continue to work hand in hand with the community, joining efforts that lead the most vulnerable people, such as mothers who work as seamsters, to improve their quality of life and that of their families, which will be reflected in a healthier and safer social environment.
