During joint operations conducted by the Colombian Navy and the National Army, 15 laboratories that were being used for the production of coca base paste in the departments of Chocó and Córdoba were destroyed.
As a result of the operations carried out earlier this year, the troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.16 attached to Joint Task Force Titan and Navy Battalion No.17, found 1,410 kilograms of solid precursors and 7,176 gallons of liquid precursors, including coca leaf, cement, lime, potassium permanganate, ammonium sulfate, fuel, as well as 1,312 kilograms of coca paste and base, scales and barrels.
The laboratories allegedly belonged to the Carlos Vásquez, Javier Yepez Cantero and Pablo José Montalvo Cuitiva substructures of the Organized Armed Group GAO Clan del Golfo.
The material found that would be used for the elaboration and production of the narcotic together with the laboratories once the established procedures were destroyed in the operations area in controlled conditions.
