In a successful Development Support Activity, 1,639 inhabitants of the Islands of Providencia and Santa Catalina benefited, due to a great work carried out by the Colombian Air Force, the National Army, the Colombian Navy and the National Police.
The activity was carried out during two days at the School Junin sede Simón Bolívar and the María Inmaculada school, where the accompaniment of the civil and military authorities aimed to bring the Unified action of the State to this population prioritized and focused by the National Government, through free medical assistance.
46 volunteer health professionals from different specialties such as Family Medicine, Optometry, Gynecology, Dermatology, Dentistry, Maxillofacial Surgery, Pediatrics, Psychology, Internal Medicine, Nursing, Urology, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Neurology and speech therapy, attended the call of this humanitarian activity on the Island to ensure the health of the inhabitants of the Colombian Caribbean Islands by assisting 1,134 patients in different specialties.
Alternate to this brigade, different recreation activities, donations, cinema under the stars, home medical care and pharmacy were carried out, in order to complement and bring well-being to all the members of the families, thanks to the support of the Juan N. Corpas University Foundation, Volunteer Optometrists for Colombia Foundation, Colgate, Totto, Colsubsidio, Cine al Parque Foundation, Fuerza Colombia Foundation, the Colombian Air Force and the Colombian Navy.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, the Military Forces will continue to bring well-being and health to the most remote areas of the country, strengthening the entire national territory, promoting good care and physical fitness of Colombians.
