In compliance with the Joint Campaign Plan Ayacucho the Colombian Navy and the National Police, apprehended a minor and arrested three individuals with weapons in the village El Barranco, of the Special District of Buenaventura - Valle del Cauca.
Troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.24 and National Police personnel arrived at the banks of the Yurumanguí River, a rural area of Buenaventura, where they identified four people, one of them a girl, carrying handguns.
The three men and the young woman were found by troops with three pistols, their magazines and 33 projectiles.
It should be recalled that from January 1 to December 31, 2023, Decree 2633 of December 30, 2022 is in force, which restricts the carrying of weapons throughout the national territory and is the responsibility of the Military Forces, as the only ones authorized, to carry, issue and generate the respective permits.
The arrested people were put into custody of the authorities for their prosecution, while the apprehended minor was handed over to the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute – ICBF, for the restoration of her rights.
