Six people were arrested in a joint, coordinated and interagency operation, led by the Cundinamarca Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Thirteenth Brigade of the National Army and the Attorney General's Office, which was carried out in Medellín, Ibagué and La Dorada, in Caldas.
Those arrested wanted with a court order for the crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes and the manufacture, trafficking and carrying of weapons, restricted-use ammunition, for the exclusive use of the Military Forces or explosives, would be part of a criminal organization that, under the modality of theft, stole parts or spare parts of weapons from military units in the country.
Thanks to the information collected during the investigation, the military units reported arriving at an alleged ornamentation workshop in the city of Medellín, where 2 pistols, 1 submachinegun, parts, spare parts and ammunition of different caliber were found by troops, as well as a motorcycle, machinery and tools for the assembly of weapons.
According to the first versions, the weapons and spare parts were marketed to the outlaw groups such as the ELN, the Residual Organized Armed Groups and the GAO Clan del Golfo.
