661 rectangular packages of narcotics were found by troops inside a Go Fast type boat thanks to the joint work of the Colombian Air Force and the National Navy; the cargo had Central America as its final destination.
In a thorough work, an aircraft of the Colombian Air Force, a unit of the Colombian Navy and an aircraft of the Joint Interagency Task Force South, carried out the tracking of a suspicious ship transiting through Colombian Caribbean waters, 252 kilometers southeast of the Island of San Andrés, once identified, the military personnel reported the maritime interception.
Troops found 336 kilograms of cocaine, which were in hidden compartments, 157 kilograms of marijuana in barrels and 02 outboard motors; the two arrested of Nicaraguan and Costa Rican nationalities, and the cargo that would cost approximately 22,067,300 dollars in the international illegal market, were put into custody of the Judicial Police.
After the arrival in San Andrés, it was confirmed the narcotics were marijuana and cocaine; in the coming days, these substances will be destroyed in accordance with the provisions of Colombian legislation.
