Within the framework of operations against the transnational crime chain of drug trafficking in the department of Nariño, units of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.4 of the Colombian Navy, dealt resounding blows to the illegal groups that commit crimes in the Colombian South Pacific.
As part of the active work in the territory, 16 rudimentary laboratories for the production of coca base paste, two illegal shipyards for the construction of semi-submarines and three illegal hiding places were found by troops and destroyed. In the same way, four ships were found by troops with supplies for the production of coca base paste and war materiel.
Inside the rudimentary structures, 5,108 gallons of liquid supplies and 4,989 kilograms of solid supplies were found by troops, which would be used for drug production.
During these operations in the rural area of the municipality of La Tola it was possible to disengage a minor of the Residual Organized Armed Group Structure 30 Rafael Aguilera who was put into custody of the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing for the restoration of his rights. At the same time, in the village of San Pablo in the same municipality, an individual who was carrying two Rifles, four pistols, 16 magazines, 1,054 cartridges of different calibers, military accessory material for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, communication equipment and 5.5 kilograms of coca base paste was brought to justice.
In the same way, in the urban area of La Perla del Pacífico, three individuals were arrested carrying three explosive devices, a pistol, a shotgun, two magazines, 29 magazines and 1,145 grams of cocaine hydrochloride. The men were put into custody of the authorities for prosecution for the alleged crime of association to commit crimes and illegal carrying of firearms.
The structures and the liquid and solid supplies were destroyed at the site of the finds, in accordance with the established protocols.
