This decisive result against drug trafficking was made possible thanks to military intelligence work in the municipality of Jambaló, northeast of the department.
In compliance with the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, troops of the National Army arrived in the village El Picacho, rural area of the municipality of Jambalo, Cauca, where a structure for drying and packaging creepy type marijuana was located.
During the search of this site, the soldiers found 910 kilograms of this narcotic, practically ready for commercialization. Two marijuana drying systems were destroyed at the site.
All the material found was put into custody of the authorities.
So far in 2023, soldiers of the National Army have found 34 tons of this narcotic throughout the department, being one of the areas of the country where the largest amount of this substance has been found. In addition, the operation against drug trafficking has resulted in the destruction of more than 70 laboratories for the processing of cocaine.
