Soldiers of the MARTE group destroyed the ammunition and devices under controlled conditions, which prevents terrorist actions by organized armed groups against civilians and members of the security forces.
As part of the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, troops of the Thirtieth Brigade of the National Army found an illegal cache that concealed a large amount of explosive material.
The discovery took place in the village Barca, municipality of Sardinata, where the troops found 151 improvised manufactured ammunition and 5 launching devices.
Once the corresponding review had been carried out and the security protocols had been complied with, soldiers from the National Army's Explosive Ordnance Handling Group carried out the procedure for the controlled destruction of the material.
It is noteworthy that in the last week the National Army has neutralized several of the intentions of the organized armed groups in Norte de Santander, who have tried to attack civilians, the strategic resources of the nation and the security forces, through the indiscriminate use of improvised explosive devices.
