The doctrine update and a new member country within the System of Cooperation of the American continent Air Forces (SICOFAA), are part of the positive report presented by the Colombian Air Force (FAC) at the end of edition No. 63 of the Conference of the Chiefs of the Air Forces of America (CONJEFAMER), where it was possible to achieve important results not only for the country, but for the attendees.
During the Conference, a new position within the organization was unanimously approved for the position of Non-Commissioned Officer Specialist in Cooperation, which will be the second rotating position within SICOFAA. Important agreements were in the same way possible that will provide humanitarian support and development of lines of work in case of natural disasters, environmental care, progress of aeronautical construction and the like.
Costa Rica is the new member of the (SICOFAA), and it is worth remembering that this is an apolitical and voluntary organization composed of the Air Forces or their equivalents and it is aimed at exchanging experiences, means, training and instruction of personnel and everything that facilitates the elaboration of procedures to act in a joint way.
In addition to the commitments of the bilateral meetings to strengthen reciprocity in terms of education and environmental preservation, the Conference in the same way led the representatives of 23 nations in the region being made aware of the Colombian Air Force's mission and the country's development, in a city like Medellín, Antioquia, where the agenda was carried out.
During the closing ceremony, the Legion of Merit decorations of the Inter-American Air Fraternity in its Gran Cruz class were awarded to the commander of the Colombian Air Force and President of the Sixty-Third Council, General Luis Carlos Córdoba Avendaño. The Legion of Merit medals of the Inter-American Air Fraternity were in the same way awarded in its three categories: Grand Cross Class, Officer Class and Knight Class, and recognition was in the same way given to the air force bases that stood out for their efforts in flight safety and accident prevention.
With new proposals, firm objectives and the unwavering commitment of the commanders of the American air forces to work for the well-being, progress and security of the fraternal peoples of the hemisphere, the LXIII CONJEFAMER concluded in the capital city of Antioquia, an event that will have its Edition No. 64 in Argentina in 2024.
