Within the framework of a joint and coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Navy, the National Army, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, it was possible to arrest in Buenaventura, an alleged member of the Organized Gang La Local.
Troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Colombian Navy arrived at a house in locality six of the Special District of Buenaventura, along with personnel of the National Police and the Technical Investigation Corps -CTI, where in a search procedure they arrested alias Zarco, alleged member of the structure Los Shottas, a criminal organization responsible for extortions against different productive groups, microtrafficking and forced displacement in this commune.
A revolver, a magazine, 36 cartridges of different calibers and three communication units of equipment with which he allegedly coordinated his criminal acts were seized. This man has entries in his criminal record for the crime of terrorism, for operations committed in the Yurumanguí River, and for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possessing firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
With this arrest, in compliance with the Intervention Plan being conducted by the Military Forces in the District, military forces contribute to the tranquility of the inhabitants and to their perception of security in the Port.
The arrested man was put into custody of the Ninth Specialized Prosecutor's Office of Buenaventura for prosecution for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possessing firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
