The device appears to have been planted by members of the rebel armed organization subestructura 41.
In the framework of military operations framed in the Ayacucho Plan, soldiers of the National Army found and destroyed two explosive devices that were in the village La Ermita, in Ocaña, Norte de Santander.
According to information and thanks to intelligence, soldiers of the Infantry Battalion No.5 General Francisco de Paula Santander, found the two explosives that were near the road that connects Cúcuta with Ocaña.
The soldiers immediately and attending to the established security protocols secured the area, to subsequently destroy the explosives in controlled conditions. Thanks to the training in handling explosives, these soldiers neutralize this terrorist operation without hitting civilians or comrades.
These devices had been apparently planted to bring terror in the region and slow down the progress of the communities that inhabit and transit the area.
At the moment the road is operating completely normally and the units continue to conduct military operations to provide security for the community.
