At the command post of the Infantry Battalion No. 56, in the municipality of Timbiquí, department of Cauca, five people made a voluntary surrender and claimed to be members of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 30 Rafael Aguilera, for five years.
In addition, a minor of age was immediately taken to the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute in the city of Popayán to restore his rights.
At the time of the voluntary surrender to the authorities, 3 9 mm caliber pistols, a 38 mm caliber revolver, a stun grenade, 2 pistol magazines and 18 9 mm cartridges were handed.
The National Army will continue to work jointly with the other institutions, carrying out awareness-raising activities to motivate people to return to legality and contribute to the dismantling of these armed groups.
