Marine Infantry units of the Colombian Navy, found military and war accessories material after effectively repelling an ambush at the time when they were carrying out patrol work on the Putumayo River, near the village of Salado Grande -Puerto Leguizamo.
The events were reported when a river Combat Element carrying out river operations was attacked by individuals who were on the banks of the Putumayo River with long-range rifle shoots. Faced with this fact, the members of the Military Forces reacted, establishing a complete security operation that caused the individuals to escape, leaving the war material and military accessories abandoned.
After verifying the troops' good health, the crew members proceeded to secure the area, finding an M4 rifle, a Glock pistol, four Galil rifle magazines, nine M-16 magazines, a 9-millimeter magazine, 365 5.56-millimeter caliber cartridges, ten 9-millimeter caliber cartridges, a fragmentation grenade, as well as camouflage pants, sweatshirts and backpacks for exclusive use by the Colombian Military Forces.
The war material found was taken to the facilities of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.30, where they were put into custody of officials of the Judicial Police –SIJIN.
