Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, National Army troops found a building that was being used for the production of cocaine hydrochloride, in which about two and a half tons of the drug were produced monthly.
In the village Guamalito, in the municipality of San Luis de Gaceno, Boyacá, soldiers of the Infantry Battalion No.1 General Simón Bolívar, of the First Brigade, in an inter-institutional manner with the Attorney General's Office and the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), found the construction with a production capacity of 2,000 to 2,400 kilograms of the drug per month.
The construction had all the elements and supplies to carry out a monthly production, which is estimated, according to technical experts, at 15,600 million pesos per month. The total cost of the construction was to cost 800 million pesos.
There were facilities that were organized in different compartments for the production of hydrochloride, such as production areas, chemistry, crystal, drying, supplies, food, as well as accommodation for 23 people.
Within the framework of the operation, 2 stoves (one industrial), 5 tanks of different storage resources and one of them automatic, 12 microwave ovens, a hydraulic press, a worm (rudimentary distillation tower), 2 precision scales, a washing machine, 15 racks, 2 power generators, 60 plastic containers of different sizes and resources, rolls of paper, plastic, tapes and marking stickers were found by troops. 45 plastic barrels were in the same way found with 477.8 gallons of solid precursors prepared and in preparation for the manufacture of the drug; sulfuric acid, solvents, acetone and gasoline were in the same way found.
In the area of solid precursors, 2840 kilograms of sodium bicarbonate, sodium metabisulfite, sodium hydroxide, calcium chloride, activated charcoal and a white lumpy solid substance were found by troops.
The construction and the elements were put into custody of the authorities.
The First Brigade of Colombian National Army is carrying out military operations to neutralize operations that disturb the security and well-being of the community, as well as illegal activities that destabilize the economic and social development of this section of the national territory.
