With aeromedical transfer, an inhabitant of the island of Providencia, who required specialized medical assistance at the Clarence Lynd Newball Memorial departmental hospital, was taken to San Andrés for the treatment of his ailments.
After a previous preparation of the Caravan C208-B aircraft, and the constant work of the Combat Squadron and the Military Health Establishment, it was possible to transport the 84-year-old man, who presented ailments in his head and impossibility to move a part of his body.
During the flight, there were no complications that would endanger this mission; in addition, the patient was assisted by professional medical and nursing personnel of the aircraft, who maintained constant monitoring of his vital signs until arrival on the island of San Andrés; after this, he was handed over to the ambulance service.
The well-being and health of the inhabitants of the islands is a priority for the Colombian Aerospace Force, which is why the military personnel continue to work with the firm commitment to carry out this type of missions that led to the improvement in the health of patients.
