In the framework of joint operations conducted by units of the Colombian Navy and Colombian National Army in the department of Chocó, more than 400 gallons of DIESEL were found by troops, damaging the finances of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, substructure Heroes de Jesus Carretera.
During area operations carried out in the municipality of Quibdó, the Atrato River, troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.16 found 420 gallons of DIESEL that were being illegally transported on an rudimentary boat; presumably the fuel would be to be used for the production of coca-based paste.
The liquid supplies were put into custody of the authority for not complying with the requirements established according to Resolution No. 0001 of January 8, 2015, in which the regulations on the control of substances and chemical products that may be used for the extraction, transformation and refining of illicit drugs or illegal mining are unified and updated.
