Through thorough operations and military intelligence work, the troops of the High Mountain Battalion No. 4 of the Cauca Specific Command arrived at the village of Dominical, in the municipality of La Vega, in the south of the department, to carry out the arrest of the individual accused of being alias Milton, group ringleader of the residual organized armed group Carlos Patiño.
This individual would be responsible for the criminal operations of this structure in the municipality of La Vega. Along with him, his girl partner, who was in the same way part of this illegal group, was arrested. The military operation took place in a house that would be used by alias Milton as a hiding place for weapons and ammunition.
In the place, the troops found 3 rifles, 2 traumatic pistols, a revolver, 25 magazines, more than 1000 cartridges of different calibers, 10 uniforms for exclusive use of the Military Forces, as well as military accessory material such as field equipment, jackets and camouflage fabric.
The evidentiary material and those arrested were put into custody of the authorities, who issued a measure in a prison center.
In the continuation of the maneuver, the military units noticed the finding of another illegal hiding place in the vicinity of the same house. After the review, it was possible to see the finding of another 2 rifles, 8 grenades, 3 rifle magazines, more than 400 cartridges of different calibers and military accessory material used by this criminal structure.
In the same way, and through a deep search of the area, the troops of the High Mountain Battalion Nº4 found a third illegal hiding place in which another rifle was found, about 2200 cartridges of various calibers and 15 rifle magazines.
With this weapon, members of the Carlos Patiño dissidents intimidate the inhabitants of the south of the department, conducting the collection of money from extortion; so this finding decimates the criminal operations of its members.
