Within the framework of the strategic approach of the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, to protect civilians and support the fight against crimes that attack individual freedom, soldiers of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Oriente, of the Fourth Brigade, rescued a foreign citizen and a Colombian, who had been kidnapped by alleged members of the organized gang (GDO) Los Pachely.
The anguish that the kidnapped experienced began last Friday, October 6, at night, when the alleged aggressors arrived at the residence of the foreign citizen in a parcel, near the sector of La Palmas Avenue, in the capital city of Antioquia.
There, the alleged criminals intimidated and threatened the victims to be locked up in the building, where they were gagged and tortured, in order to force them to hand over their bank account information and the password to a safe.
It should be noted that while they were carrying out these violent operations against the good physical and moral condition of the two people, other members of the gang were vacating the building; once with the stolen belongings inside the cars of the victims, the individuals started to escape.
It is important to note that this anti-kidnapping operation was carried out thanks to the coordinated work of military intelligence and judicial investigation of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) that began months ago, assisting similar cases of express kidnapping in the municipalities of Rionegro, Guarne and Marinilla, oriente antioqueño and metropolitan area of the Aburrá Valley. Based on technical evidence, it was identified that they could be the same perpetrators, thus leading the troops to find the members of this criminal organization, intercept them and captured them in real time and rescue the citizens.
The material seized from this organized gang, including movable property and money resulting from extortions, thefts and kidnappings amounts to a figure close to four billion pesos.
Those arrested, a firearm and a vehicle were taken into custody by officials of the Attorney General's Office, who were in charge of carrying out the prosecution process.
In the same way, the minor who was with the gang members was recovered and put into custody of the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute for the restoration of his rights.
The individuals in question will have to face charges of aggravated kidnapping, torture, theft and use of minors for crimes.
