One of the two Boeing C-40 type aircraft sent by the Colombian Aerospace Force to carry out the intercontinental humanitarian mission, arrived at the Military Transport Air Command – CATAM at 01:00 am today Friday with 110 passengers of different ages, who returned to the country from Ben Gurion International Airport, in the city of Tel Aviv-Israel, as a result of coordinated work with the Foreign Ministry of Colombia.
After boarding, the 737 aircraft started the Tel Aviv - Lisbon route, where the passengers were transferred to the second aircraft that was waiting for them there, they took off for Lajes, with a technical stopover in Punta Cana, to finally land in Bogotá, a route that involved flying 17 hours from Israel, fulfilling the long-cherished desire of Colombians, which was to be in their homeland.
The air operation of the Aerospace Force, added to the management of diplomatic procedures carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led to carry out the first phase of the mission and continue working to get a successful conclusion of the transportation of the remaining 110 compatriots, who are waiting in Israel with the faith of returning to their country as soon as possible.
