Units of the Colombian Navy, in fulfillment of the mission of safeguarding human life in the river arteries of the country, rescued four people who were being dragged by the heavy currents of the Atrato River, since the boat in which they were traveling suffered a river accident after colliding with a tree trunk.
Troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.16, who were conducting search and river control patrols, attended the community's call in a timely manner, immediately moving to the emergency site.
The high degree of training and commitment of the navy men of the Colombian Navy led to the timely rescue of all the crew members of the ship, who were brought to safety.
Subsequently, they were given first aid and were taken to the municipality of Carmen del Darién for the corresponding medical evaluations.
