Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan of Colombian National Army, troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Thirteenth Brigade, in an operation coordinated with the Cundinamarca Sectional Prosecutor's Office and the Cundinamarca Police, arrested five people belonging to the Los Palmares criminal structure, allegedly involved in threats, extortions and forced displacements in Fusagasugá and Silvania, Cundinamarca.
The arrests by judicial order became effective after investigative and intelligence work that led to finding the individuals who posed as members of armed groups to seize farms and demand millions of pesos to return them.
The Prosecutor's Office charged the individuals as possible perpetrators of crimes such as association to commit aggravated crimes; aggravated extortion attempted; threats; forced displacement; invasion of land or buildings and manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
With this coordinated and inter-institutional operation, the illegal finances of the organized crime groups that commit crimes in the department of Cundinamarca are being hit.
