Free specialized medical assistance services were received by the inhabitants of El Calvario in the department of Meta, in a Development Support Activity led by the Colombian Aerospace Force through the Air Combat Command No. 2.
Since very early the Calvario people woke up with a clear and sunny day that led to the arrival of a UH-60 Angel helicopter with medical personnel, medicines, donations and the firm conviction of men and women to serve the civilians.
The people were benefited with more than 900 treatments in General Medicine, Pediatrics, Dentistry, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Geriatrics, Gynecology, Bacteriology, and medication distribution; in the same way with the distribution of donations such as toys, clothes, fortified foods and wheel chairs thanks to the inter-institutional work and the support of the Military Forces, Professional Reserve Officers, the Colombian Civil Defense, the El Minuto de Dios Organization Corporation, Meta Visible NGO Foundation, Arturo Calle Foundation, Municipal Mayoralty under the leadership and coordination of the Comprehensive Action Section of the Air Combat Command No.2
"I live very close to where the helicopter lands and when you hear it you get happy because you know that people come to provide support, that gives everyone a lot of joy," says Mr. Pedro Eli Velázquez, a resident of El Calvario who in the same way received medical services and medicines, along with him 685 people including children, teenagers and older adults benefited from this activity.
In this way, the inhabitants of the villages in the same way reached the urban area, some on foot after walking through the steep mountains that characterize the area, leading the Colombian Aerospace Force to contribute to the development and protection of civilians in the region.
