Two night aeromedical transfer missions led to the safeguarding of the lives of two women in the departments of Guaviare and Meta, thanks to the human and technical resources of the Aerospace Force personnel belonging to the Air Combat Command No.2, using the ambulance aircraft or Cessna 208B Caravan.
After receiving the call of the people and in coordination with the National Personnel Recovery Center, CNRP, the first mission was carried out to save the life of a pregnant woman who was in labor in the municipality of Miraflores and required to be transported to San José del Guaviare, to be handed to the care center in stable conditions to give birth.
The second patient belongs to an indigenous ethnic group and had an acute respiratory condition, she was taken from Miraflores to Villavicencio under biosafety conditions, turning herself in to the departmental hospital for evaluation and care. After operating on an unprepared runway, in night conditions, with 5 hours of flight, the two missions were completed satisfactorily during the night and early morning of this Monday.
This is how the 24-hour pilots, doctors and military crew of the Colombian Aerospace Force arrive in a timely manner at the villages that urgently require humanitarian medical assistance in the communities far from the urban centers to continue saving lives.
