Three laboratories for the production of coca paste were found by troops of the National Navy in the department of Cauca, in the sectors of Santa Rosa and El Natal in Puerto Saija, in the municipality of Timbiquí, and in the sector of Rotura, López de Micay municipality, in the framework of the operation of the naval institution against the organized armed groups that commit crimes in the region.
Inside the laboratories found by the troops of the Marine Infantry Brigade No.2 and after a follow-up to these organized armed groups, it was possible to find and destroy 963 gallons of liquid precursors and 160 kilograms of cement, lime and ammonium sulfate, among other precursors used for the production of narcotic drugs.
According to the investigations, the laboratories belonged to the residual organized armed group of the front 30 of the mobile column 'Jaime Martínez'.
So far this year, the Pacific Naval Force has found and destroyed 94 laboratories of the production of coca base paste, as well as about 31,000 gallons of liquid precursors and more than 18,000 kilograms of solid precursors.
