The Colombian Navy, Colombian National Army and the Colombian Aerospace Force conducted a security operation in the Yurumanguí and Raposo rivers, a rural area of the Buenaventura Special District in the department of Valle del Cauca.
Alerted by the people about an alleged armed confrontation between the company Omar Silgado of the Organized Armed Group ELN and the Residual Organized Armed Group Jaime Martínez, the Pacific Naval Force deployed a comprehensive security operation with river and land units of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.2, which are in the Yurumanguí and Raposo rivers.
Meanwhile, the Military Forces and the Public Prosecutor's Office continue to accompany civilians in the territory, while the Colombian Aerospace Force conducted aerial reconnaissance operations in the sector.
According to preliminary information, the confrontation between these two illegal armed groups allegedly takes place for the control of mobility routes and illicit activities in this sector of the Colombian Pacific.
The Military Forces continue with their presence in the area, carrying out joint and coordinated operations that led them to work to raise the protection of the inhabitants of the rural areas of the Colombian Pacific.
