Powerful cargo of war items and drones of the Jaime Martínez residual group was seized by Army troops in Valle del Cauca

Poderoso cargamento de material de guerra y drones del grupo residual 'Jaime Martínez' fue incautado por las tropas del Ejército en Valle del Cauca

More than 20 rifles of different categories, 7 drones, about 300 grenades and ammunition were seized in Yumbo, department of Valle de Cauca, after effective military intelligence work that led to establish their location, as well as their destination in the department of Guaviare. The purpose of the elements of war would be to reinforce the criminal acts of the residual structure Armando Rios in the east of the country.

Simultaneously with the fulfillment of the Democracy Plan, the troops of the Rapid Deployment Force No. 5, of the Third Division, in coordination with the National Police, continue to carry out operations against organized armed groups. A new strategic loss to the logistical resources of the residual organized armed group, GAO-r, Mordisco Faction, was made possible with the seizure of an important cargo of war items and drones in the municipality of Yumbo, department of Valle de Cauca.

During the military operation, 26 rifles of different categories, about 300 magazines, 6300 rounds of ammunition, about 300 grenades to be fitted on drones and 7 of these aircraft were seized, these are elements that would be used to carry out criminal acts against the Military Forces and the inhabitants.

According to the military intelligence work that led to the finding of the shipment, these elements had been sent by alias Marlon, a ringleader recently eliminated in military operations, and were intended to strengthen the armed resources of the Armando Ríos structure that commits crimes in San José del Guaviare, once again evidencing the logistical and criminal networks that these groups try to maintain to sustain their terrorist acts.

The route identified by the military units included the exit of the rifles, drones and ammunition of the Naya region, Buenaventura area, Valle de Cauca department, to the east of the country. This criminal structure planned to take advantage of the recent national electoral activity to transport the elements with ease and reduce the probability of detection by the authorities.

This result represents a new significant loss to the operational, mobility and support resources of the residual organized armed group, while reaffirming the effectiveness of the intelligence work and the commitment of the soldiers of the Third Division in the protection of the national territory, through operations against the criminal acts of illegal groups.
