In the North Pacific region, Colombian Navy prevented the entry of 9.4 million dollars to transnational crime networks

En el Pacífico Norte, Armada de Colombia evitó el ingreso de 9,4 millones de dólares a las redes del crimen transnacional

Coast Guard units, with the support of a US Unit, seized 212 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.

Within the framework of an operation against the transnational crime of drug trafficking, the Colombian Navy, with the support of the Joint Interagency Task Force of the Southern Command of the United States –JIATFS-, reported the maritime interception of a lobster boat type that was transporting 212 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.

Units of the Bahía Solano Coast Guard Station, guided by Naval Intelligence information, detected a boat sailing suspiciously in the waters of the North Pacific. With the support of a JIATFS Unit, the maritime interception procedure was carried out on that ship, which was crewed by three men of Colombian nationality, who, apparently, were transporting illicit substances under double bottom modality.

The individuals were taken along with the boat to the Coast Guard Station of Bahía Solano, where the a double bottom was confirmed in which 210 rectangular packages with alkaloids were found by troops. The Criminal Investigation Section – SIJÍN- carried out the Approved Preliminary Identification Test and established that it was 212.8 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.

The arrested and the confiscated items were put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution process.

It is estimated that this illicit merchandise would cost more than $9.4 million. With its seizure, the Naval Institution prevented the marketing of more than 532 thousand doses of narcotics on the streets of the world.
