The timely reaction and the high level of training of the soldiers led to the detection of a vehicle equipped with 14 means of launching, which apparently was abandoned by the members of this armed structure during the early morning, upon noticing the activity of the troops.
Within the framework of military operations, troops of the Special Energy and Road Battalion No. 3, of the Tenth Brigade, of the First Division, thwarted a terrorist attack that alleged members of the Camilo Torres Structure, of the organized armed group ELN, were planning to perpetrate against the facilities of this military unit, in the village of La Mata, municipality of La Gloria, department of Cesar.
The Explosives and Demolitions Team, EXDE, and the Marte Group were immediately sent, who carried out the security protocols, verified the area and carried out the controlled activation of the device, successfully neutralizing the threat and preventing a terrorist action that would have put the lives of the inhabitants and military personnel at serious risk.
The Tenth Brigade categorically rejects these acts, which constitute a serious violation of international humanitarian law and endanger the security of communities.
