In La Plata, Huila department, troops of the Ninth Brigade seized an illegal hideout of explosives that would be used to commit terrorist acts against the inhabitants and the Military Forces.
In the framework of military operations, troops of the Light Infantry Battalion N.° 26 Cacique Pigoanza and the Light Cavalry Group N.° 11, in coordination with the DIJIN GRATE, of the National Police, reported to find and seize an illicit hiding place of explosives in the village Panorama, municipality of La Plata, department of Huila, thanks to information provided by a member of the Carlos Patiño Front surrendered to the justice.
During the operation, 30 units of approximately 250 grams each of explosive were found by troops, with characteristics similar to pentolite, in addition to 4 electric detonators, 4 detonators, 2 electric matches, a cylindrical tube and 49 centimeters of detonating cord, elements that were put into custody of the authority for their respective procedure.
According to the information obtained, this explosive element would have been sent by the Jacobo Arenas Western Bloc to support the Central Isaías Pardo Bloc, Hernando González Acosta Substructure, with the purpose of carrying out terrorist acts against military installations, security forces units, and residents in this area of the department.
Through this result of the military operation, the Ninth Brigade damages the logistical and terrorist resources of this organized armed structure, preventing possible attacks that would put the life and integrity of the inhabitants of western Huila at risk. Colombian National Army will continue to carry out operations to protect the inhabitants and neutralize the threats of organized armed groups that commit crimes in the region.
