From November 21 to 23, the Workshop Scientific Contributions of Colombia to the Antarctic Treaty component of protection of the marine environment, will take place in Cartagena, led by the General Maritime Directorate (Dimar) and the University of Magdalena, with support of the Colombian Ocean Commission (CCO) and the Naval School of Cadets 'Almirante Padilla'.
The objective of the workshop is to make known the experiences and research carried out by Colombian institutions in the white continent, focused on environmental issues, which have been carried out in the different scientific expeditions carried out since 2014.
The event count on the participation of institutions such as the University of Antioquia, the Universidad del Valle, Universidad de la Costa, Naval School of Sub-Officers ARC 'Barranquilla', Naval Academy of Cadets 'Almirante Padilla' and the Center for Oceanographic and Hydrographic Research of the Caribbean. In the same way, there will be the participation of foreign researchers representing the Chilean Antarctic Institute (Inach) and the University of Baja California.
The Workshop will take place in the auditorium of the multiple room of the Alfa Sextantis building of the Naval School of Cadets "Almirante Padilla".
