With masks, prevention activities, loudspeakers, distribution of brochures and support with the supply of drinking water in different municipalities, the soldiers of the National Army's Sixth Division support the containment dynamics to face the COVID-19 emergency.
The Sixth Division of the National Army, through its military units, such as the Twelfth Brigade, in the department of Caquetá, The Twenty-Sixth Brigade, in the Amazonas department, and the Twenty-Seventh Brigade as well as the Jupiter Operational Command, in Putumayo, have been continuously carrying out prevention and containment campaigns in the main cities, municipalities and villages of the Colombian Amazonian region. With this, it seeks to create awareness in the people about the measures that must be followed to face the current health emergency.
During the day, the soldiers make loudspeakers campaigns reminding the population to stay at home, they in the same way send messages of encouragement, strength and tranquility, emphasizing care, caution and responsibility; they also complement the information in brochures and promote use of face masks made by civilianand military.
Additionally, tank cars have been sent to provide drinking water to the most vulnerable communities and thus prevent them from leaving their homes. In this way, a total of 7,000 people have benefited. In addition, more than 700 food baskets have been distributed.
At night, the soldiers make presence on the main streets of the municipalities, safeguarding strategic points, guaranteeing the safety and tranquility of the inhabitants who make up the Amazonian region.
